Tenerife has a great selection of beaches, the volcanic nature and evolution have created few natural beaches all of fine shingle or sand. The dramatic increase in tourism has lead to massive investment in man made beaches using sand inported from the Sahara. These can be found round the major tourist towns and are all easisly accessible, meet the stringent European standards for safety and cleanliness. Most offer shower facilities, sun beds shades and a wide variety of water sports.

Below is a small selection of the wide variety of beaches available.
